HMS Duke of York is another in a series of five British King George V-class battleships, built strictly according to the naval treaties in force in the first half of the 1930s. Built in 1941, it went down in history as a participant in the Allied operations off the coast of North Africa, a veteran of Arctic convoys and a slayer of the German battleship Scharnhorst.
